I let them sleep in on Sunday. It had been a long Saturday. I got ready for church early and was going to enjoy the paper and coffee before heading to 9 a.m. Mass.
Our son stumbled into the kitchen and noticed I was already dressed and ready to go. He told me to have fun at church and that he preferred to stay home with daddy and watch Tom and Jerry. I assured him it was too early and that I waiting for my coffee.
His observation was this,
"That's a really bad idea. You can't take coffee there.
They have wooden seats and no coasters."
I love that neat quality about him. He's my "do the right thing if SHE isn't doing it" suck up. I'll take what I can get.
His sister and I headed off giggling out the door.
